Is the Always Pan’s ceramic nonstick coating non-toxic?

Thermakind®, our proprietary ceramic nonstick coating, is made without potentially toxic materials like PFAS (including PTFE and PFOA), lead, and cadmium. PFAS are nicknamed “Forever Chemicals” because they do not break down easily in the environment or in the human body. As a result, they bioaccumulate over time, making them a highly concerning chemical group. PFAS-based coatings also release toxic fumes when overheated, and are still used in many pots and pans on the market today. Not ours.

How long do ceramic nonstick pans last?

High-quality ceramic nonstick pans typically last 2–5 years with proper care, though some premium coatings can last longer. The lifespan depends on the coating quality, usage frequency, and care practices. Look for pans with reinforced ceramic coatings and avoid overheating or using metal utensils to maximize durability.

Are ceramic nonstick pans oven safe?

Most ceramic nonstick pans are oven safe, but temperature limits vary by brand. Quality ceramic pans can typically handle 176°C to 260°C. Always check the manufacturer's specifications before transferring from stovetop to oven, and remember that handles may have different temperature limits than the pan body.

Do ceramic nonstick pans need oil?

While ceramic coatings are naturally nonstick, using a small amount of oil or butter enhances performance and extends coating life. High-quality ceramic pans require much less oil than traditional cookware. Just a light coating is sufficient for excellent food release.

Are ceramic pans safer than traditional nonstick?

Yes, ceramic nonstick pans are generally safer than traditional PTFE-based nonstick cookware. Ceramic coatings (like ours) are made from sand-derived materials and don't contain PFAS, PFOA, or other potentially harmful chemicals. Care & Use

Cooking

Use low-to-medium heat for optimal results. The aluminum body heats quickly and evenly.
Never heat an empty pan. Use high-smoke-point oil (like olive, avocado, or grapeseed) with the nonstick coating.
Oven safe up to 230°C, perfect for finishing dishes in the oven or keeping food warm for serving.
Avoid aerosol sprays to protect the nonstick coating.
Use wooden or silicone utensils to protect the ceramic nonstick coating. Do not use metal utensils.
Use caution! Always use heat protection when handling the short and long handles and knobs. These may become hot during stovetop use or in the oven.

Cleaning

Hand wash only, not dishwasher safe.
Do not fully soak or submerge the pan or pot in water.
No harsh scrubbing or abrasives needed with our high-performance nonstick coating.
Let the cookware completely cool before cleaning, and make sure it is dry before cooking again.

Storage

Stack carefully with protective padding between pieces. Store in a dry location to prevent moisture damage.
